  • In some case of printing big graphics (color on 64-bit OS for example) the graphic elements could be missing. This is corrected now.

  • Alternate escape sequance influence also on Store settings command (PG). In this case caret is send instead of escape (0x5E instead of 0x1B).

  • Czech, Lithuanian and Ukrainian languages are now supported also in all NiceDrivers.

  • When printing from standard Windows application (like Microsoft Word) and using page rotation (Landscape and/or rotate 180), positions of graphic were shifted relative to internal elements.Shift size depends on page dimensions, shift direction depends on rotation.

  • PrnInst utility was updated so that long INF file structure is supported.

  • When trying to preinstall drivers on Windows 7, user got an "Environment incorrect" error message. This is corrected now.

  • Added Aztec and GS1 Datamatrix barcodes. GS1 Datamatrix barcode works from NiceLabel version greater than 5.2.2865. Please check also your printer's firmware version if support these barcodes.

  • User is now able to change administrator settings without reopening driver properties dialog as an elevated user. A click on the shielded button and entering the credentials is all that is needed.

  • Fixed occasional driver crash when printing extremely large graphics

  • Page preview icons in "Advanced Dialog" corrected.

  • Uninstall of printer with Printer Install Wizard did not work on Windows 2003 (x64) system

  • Export to printer functionality was updated so that data length is included for barcode CODE-93.:p


  • Build number is now part of version information in About dialog


  • Download graphics to PCMCIA slot didn't work. This is fixed now.


  • There was not possible to export to SAP from labeling software if UPC-A barcode was present on the label. This is corrected now.


  • Additional Date pictures ware added for SBPL printers:MM DD YYYY, MM-DD-YYYY, MM.DD.YYYY and MM/DD/YYYY can be used as internal Date format.


  • Added Rotation to parsed text in command fonts


  • Printing process was stopped during heavy duty printing.

  • PrnInst showed login window, even if the user running the application was administrator.


  • PrnInst can now be moved to any position (second monitor) and it will stay there. It will not jump back to its original position.
  • SATO DR308e printers also needs A1 command for correct alignment. SATO DR308e StartDoc escape is the same as for GT printers. There was missing A3 command for offset and STX ESC+A with ESC+Z ETX arround speed command .


  • Postnet barcode fonts can no longer have their width changed.


  • Updated Plug and Play information for Sato M10e printer.
  • Gen2 tag on Sato didn't work right.


  • QR barcode position was not correct if using 90 or 270 degree rotation. This is corrected now.
  • Change speed command valu calculation for "M84 Pro 200 dpi" and "M84 Pro 300 dpi".There is send command like CS{"speed in inch/2"}.


  • USBPRINT PnP ID's have been added for three SATO models: SATOS8408, SATOS8412 and SATOS8424.
  • User can select Automatic or Manual options for Job removing using keyboard in Printer Install Wizard
  • Fixed labeling software crash when turning off "Use Advanced printer driver interface".


  • Printer Install Wizard uninstallation of driver doesn`t remove all of the files from the SYSTEM32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\ folder.
  • When printing internal MSI barcode it is printed too large compared to graphic barcode. This is corrected now for all SBPL printers.
  • User data for EPC Gen2 RFID has not been sent to the printer. This is corrected now.


  • Internal MicroPDF now prints correctly
  • "Calibrate" button on Immediate dialog has been renamed into "Send" and moved up, since it relates just Sensor Type and not to the whole page.
  • Changed EAN13, EAN8 and UPCA to use internal interpretations.
  • Fixed Overlay printing for MB printer models.
  • Also SATO S-84xx printers support XML export.
  • When doing export to printer with XML variant then command *F,n should not be present in print stream. This is true for all RFID printer models.
  • The list of internal fonts has been changed on some SATO printer models:- LM4xxe printers: Vector fonts are added in the list but scalable CGTriumvirate and CGTmes have been removed from the internal font list- S84 and CX4xx printer models support also vector fonts


  • Electonic Article Survailance was always disabled on Rfid printers
  • Fixed printing of Datamatrix and QR barcode font with more then 255 character data
  • Added automatic termination character for Maxicode barcode font data
  • Fixed EAN13, EAN8, UPC A and UPC E to not print guides when they should be disabled


  • M10e printer models has now PnP ID .
  • Added support for custom printer name after silently installing a printer driver from command line (/INSTPRN; /INSTMULTPRN)


  • Printer Installation Wizard will be able to automaticly remove all jobs when updating printer


  • Printer Install Wizard can start an application specified in the command line, after it closes.
  • Export to printer didn't work if there were graphics on the label. This is fixed now.


  • Updated PnP IDs for Lt408, CT408i, CT412i, CT424i, S-8408, S-8412 and S-8424 models
  • Chinese (Simpl.) translation for "Tear-off" was too long and therefore it wasn't displayed completely on the PG dialog.


  • When you disable the option "Use advanced printer driver interface" (in File -> Label Setup -> Printing tab) labeling software will crash with the error "GDI Failure, OK to continue?"
  • Status monitor is able to detect port conflicts, when two printer drivers are using the same port for bidirectional communication with the printer.Also when user will delete or install a new printer to the system, Status Monitor will detect the change by itself.


  • PrnInst didn't set printer attributes correctly. This is fixed now.


  • Turkish language added
  • PG command for Control Code was the same for Standard and Non-Standard.


  • - write MMF to alternative location (research) - update MemMaster to store files to this location - update driver to read from new location (make sure that the update will be backward compatible)


  • Max print length was corrected for Sato CLxxx printers.
  • Uninstall of driver package failed when running a 64bti system.


  • Delay was added after Cancel before print command.


  • If you open Settings dialog from Advanced Setup dialog, than some settings are disabled for some printers.


  • Labelling software can now recall variables with more than 31 characters of data.
  • When you click on the Help button in About dialog help is opened, but it is not linked to any page.
  • Help on About dialog opens help page with contents 'This program cannot display the webpage'.
  • Checkbox "Enable bidirectional support" (Printer properties -> Ports) can now be unchecked automatically during driver installation, corresponding to the flag "Bidirectional" in .inf file.Bidirectional=0 => checkbox is unchecked.Bidirectional=1 => checkbox is checked.If this information is ommited, Bidirectional=1 is assumed.


  • Upper speed limit for S8412 is now 14 ips. Before that it was 16 ips.

4.4.67 Beta

  • Download commands for single-byte fonts contained incorrect char info. Character code FF was sent twice. This is corrected now.


  • ">" Character is no longer encoded as "~" character in barcodes


  • Removed Help button as no help is available.
  • CG Times and CG Triumvirate vector fonts can be resized now separately in both directions: (x or y)
  • Sensor type selection added as Immediate setting for CX models
  • New Japanese translation for Printer Install Wizard
  • Sato Vector fonts:SATO Vector,SATO Vector O,SATO Vector I,SATO Vector OI,SATO VectorF,SATO Vector OF,SATO Vector IF,SATO Vector OIF have problems with enlargement step. The size of the font on the screen did not rise constantly but there ware illogical steps. This is corrected now.


  • When user starts Printer Install Wizard the application is shown but without focus
  • Fixed sending data to printer on Windows 2000
  • Changed default number for cutting to 1 label instead of 0.
  • Corrected Date and Version in WDM driver INF filesCorrected WDM folder locations


  • Sato CLxxx models do not have support to write the Rfid data in HEX format
  • Vector fonts "SATO CG Times" and "SATO CG Triumvirate" are not printed correctly when resized only horizontaly or only verticaly.
  • Installation of wdm driver is not working on Windows Vista systems
  • PnP ID's had to be added to the followin Sato printers:CL408e, CL412e, CL608e, CL612e, M-8459Se, M-8460Se, M-8485Se, M-8490Se, XL 400e, XL 410e, M-10e, M84 Pro 200DPI, M84 Pro 300DPI, M84 Pro 600DPI, GT408e, GT412e, GT424e, CT408i, CT412i, S-8408, S-8412, S-8424, MB200, MB201i, MB400, MB400i, MB410i, LM408e, LM412e
  • There were only 4 settings for Darkness range (A-D) on on printer preferences dialog (Advanced tab -> Other). The missing 2 (E, F) are added now.


  • Changed file info for Printer Install Wizard
  • Fixed port monitor not allowing USB connections
  • Removed help button as help is not available.
  • Default value for Always use default settings is not correct when instaling it the driver with a configuration file attached.


  • DLL files for user interface translation did not include version info data.
  • Labels transfered from different systems now retain their driver settings.


  • Increased lenght for filename and path in import and export of settings.
  • POSTNET barcodes have a fixed height and width, but the interface allows the user to change these dimensions.


  • Import and export didn't work if filename and path exceeded the length of 80 characters while windows support 256 character lengths
  • Click on "Stocks" panel caused error if stock list was empty. This is fixed now.

  • PrnInst searches for Prn64.bin in current folder as well as in .\Win64 folder.


  • - support for preinstall on all supported platforms


  • Corrected sending Label Dimension to the printer.
  • EndDocument escape was sent even when there was no StartDocument.
  • If driver gets no separator character description for decimal number from the OS, driver puts a "+" or "," string as default character. The result was seen for page size (example)Now the dot character "." is set for default separator in this case.


  • Invalid stocks are now marked. User can open the Stock properties dialog and press OK to fix the problem (which is usually stock dimension). Stock size will be automatically adjusted.
  • There was missing MicroQR barcode parameter for setting mode. Now this setting is added for MicroQR and also for QR barocode. There was no printout for MicroQR before the correction.
  • UI for commands fonts works now properly also in Japanese language.
  • When using "Export to Printer" function in labelling software some characters are appended to barcode interpretation. This happens on fixed encoded barcodes (CODE128, GS1-128, SSCC, ...).
  • In some rare cases streams sent to the printer had an extra "0" added in it.


  • Store/Recall added for Sato printers


  • Sometimes a print stream is not send to the printer, and it stays stuck in the spooler


  • DD/MM/YYYY, DD MM YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY, DD.MM.YYYY date formats was added to Sato printers.
  • Port monitor crashed when setting up port details (IP and port number)
  • CT420 printer added to Sato Nice distribution. Corrected speeds for CT420 and max print length for CT400 & CT410.


  • Barcode fonts vanished instead of being imported.


  • Microsoft Vista operating system is not mentioned in the text file that is distributed with the driver.
  • Red area function was not working correctly. New driver release enables user to correctly define red area sections. In the list red area position is now displayed in selected units.
  • Stocks were not imported if user didn't view the stocks dialog beforehand


  • Barcode ratio values are not shown in Barcode Fonts dialog. This only happens when you are editing existing barcode font.


  • Spooler crashed during the installation, if there were any printers allready installed on the system.


  • While installing a printer driver on certain systems the spooler crashed.
  • "delete" button was enabled even if the barcode/command fonts list was empty. This is fixed now.
  • Export of barcode fonts didn't work properly unless user clicked on barcode fonts tab before exporting them. This is fixed now.
  • Increased timeouts for better printer status response times
  • Slow printing occurred when a Not Accessible printer was found on a network. Printer status was also not received immediately.


  • Status for printers (that use bidirectionaal communication) was not correct when the printer was not physicaly connected to the computer. Status was changing between Not Accessible and Ready


  • Driver can now override the default document settings of some applications with driver default settings (set up in printer spooler)
  • Incorrect commands (garbage in stream) were sent to the printer when user was exporting to XML.


  • After viewing the Help file CHM file was locked and because of that reboot was needed to complete the installation. New version of driver will not lock the CHM any more and because of that reboot is not needed.


  • Barcode fonts and command fonts are now stored in registry.
  • Printing did not work on nonbidirectional printers. Printer Error was displayed the whole time


  • Printing did not work when bidirectional was enabled


  • New Port monitor is added to the distribution
  • On Windows Vista there is warning displayed if user doesn't have appropriate permissions to create (or write to) certain driver files.
  • Old HLP help file format was exchanged for new CHM file format.
  • When user changed printer's port, the printing was no longer possible until reboot.
  • Port monitor now uses correct (64 bit) interface file on 64bit systems.
  • Installation did not go through when upgrading from old printer driver, if the user had the driver connected to the Advanced Port Monitor (LAN)
  • Bug fixed, where some changes on stocks updated default umprintable area values.
  • MicroPDF barcode type is supported on SATO printers. But you need a labeling software version 5.0.1 for using this feature.


  • Spooler crashed, if user had multiple bidirectional printers using the same port, while using a status monitoring application


  • Stocks were not imported properly or were not shown immediately after import.


  • Korean language added.
  • Driver does not show all stocks in 'Stocks' combo box on 'Options' dialog. Missing stocks have heights that are near the maximum printer's limit.


  • Changed window handling so that port monitor setup windows can appear on Vista
